To be considered for drilling positions essential requirements are a HR (Unrestricted) Drivers Licence, Senior First Aid Certificate and the ability to pass a pre-employment medical as well as drug and alcohol assessment, with the desirable requirements being a Forklift ticket, MARCSTA and Working at Heights ticket.

Position

RC - Grade Control Drillers.  Looking to work in PNG

Diamond Drillers - Experienced working in poor ground conditions - experienced in directional drilling

Site Managers
Due to internal growth, we require the services of an experienced Site Manger(s) to lead our teams of externally resourced supervisors and drillers and internally resourced drill assistants.
The following experience and attributes are required:
  • Total commitment to Safety and working within the Traverse Drilling PNG Ltd Safety Management System and following SWPs
  • Minimum 10 years experience diamond drilling with experience in PQ3 and HQ3 utilising mud systems in poor ground conditions 
  • Excellent communication skills and computer literacy. Ability to manage staff effectively, and  liaise with all levels of management and the client
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and respect for cultural differences, and to lead a multi-cultural workforce
  • Experience with DE740, LF70/90 Cs1000 type rigs preferred but not essential

Training qualifications will be well regarded.

Supervisors and Drillers
Traverse Drilling PNG Ltd is currently operating 12 rigs on a major project in Morobe Province PNG. We seek the services of an additional two Supervisor Drillers and Drillers to work with our expatriate Site Managers to ensure production targets are met safety, and to assist with the training of our National Drillers.
 
The following experience and attributes are required:
  • Total commitment to Safety and working within the Traverse Drilling PNG Ltd Safety Management System and following SWPs.
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience diamond drilling with experience in PQ3 and HQ3 utilising mud systems in poor ground conditions
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and respect for cultural differences, and to lead a multi-cultural workforce
  • Experience with LF70/90 Cs1000 type rigs preferred but not essential
 
Training qualifications will be well regarded.

Technical Writer - Brisbane Based

Traverse Drilling International Pty Ltd (Australia) provides world class exploration drilling services to the mining industry throughout the world.

Due to internal growth we require the services of Technical Writer. 

Reporting to the Business Support Manager the primary role of this position is to develop, review and update technical documentation across the Company's Integrated Management System (ie: OHS, HR, commercial, environmental, operations, etc.).  In addition, you will be required to:

  • Format and edit documentation 
  • Gather information by studying existing material and research
  • Interpret information in a meaningful way to the target audience 
  • Adopt methodical and highly organised approach to workflow processes
  • Adapt information to meet multilingual requirements 
  • Prepare information in a number of multimedia formats 
  • Support the development and roll out of training 
  • Support the development of documentation to meet company, client and regulatory requirements
  • Follow up actions as directed by the Business Support Manager

Essential to this role:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role 
  • High level of communication - written and verbal
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office 
  • Ability to work without supervision to achieve defined outcomes
  • Ability to manage and organise multiple tasks at the same time
  • Proven time management skills and attention to detail

Experience in the mining industry will be considered an advantage.  On-the-job training and mentoring will be provided to the successful candidate.

Safety Coordinators
  • Permanent roster (28 days on/14 days off)

Traverse Drilling PNG Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Traverse Drilling International Pty Ltd (Australia), is currently operating on a major mining and exploration project throughout PNG.

Due to rapid growth, we are seeking experienced Health, Safety, Environment, Training and Quality Coordinators to join our teams in PNG. 

Reporting to the Risk Manager, the primary role of this position will be to contribute effectively to the implementation of safety and environmental management plans, actively engage in HSE strategies and deliver and coordinate HSE training.  In addition, you will be required to provide guidance in hazard identification and risk management, participate in incident investigations, implement and support monitoring programmes and support and deliver HSE training.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will require the following skills/abilities:

  • Relevant HSE qualifications (or the ability to complete a Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role 
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Word and Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written 
  • Demonstrated leadership and negotiation skills 
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Great organisational and planning skills
  • Experience working on mine sites will be an advantage
